Do you have the phone numbers of significant others in your cell phone? Keep your phone charged!
Week 38 - Day 3
Consider adding comfort items to your birthing bag. Warm socks, lip balm, a sports drink and relaxing music may help during labor. Your own night clothes and a book on breastfeeding or baby care may make your stay in the hospital more pleasant.8
Week 38 - Day 4
Practice relaxation with your partner or birth attendant. Discuss what he/she might do to help you feel at ease during labor!
Week 38 - Day 5
Most hospitals allow you to take a tour of their maternity ward. Schedule a visit to become familiar with the rooms and the people. Ask for things that you might want to add to your birthing bag!
Week 38 - Day 6
As a single mom, you need to have a good support team in place. Ask for help from family, friends and agencies! Getting adequate help during and right after birth will get you back on your feet more quickly.
Week 38 - Day 7
Older moms-to-be are more prone to exhaustion during labor. To get ready, focus on a healthy diet, gentle exercise and adequate rest!
